#Germany’s #GIZ and the East African Community launch new tourism support project

The East African Community in partnership with Germany’s International Development Agency GIZ co invites you to participate in the official virtual launch of the EAC Online Tourism Capacity Development Programme scheduled for 30th of May 2024, 11.00 am East African Time.

The Programme aims to strengthen institutional and private sector capacity in the region, including that of tourism service providers, MSMEs, youth, women, and local communities, among other stakeholders and practitioners. The courses are offered both in English and French. They require a one-time registration on the atingi e-Learning platform and are 100% free for all registered learners (Please see attached concept for further information).

The courses in this programme offer easily accessible and engaging modules, live webinars, and expert talks for the duration of four months per course. After the four-month duration has expired, a new course begins with a focus on the EAC tourism sector. Upon completion, learners will receive a downloadable EAC certificate, digitally signed by the Deputy Secretary General in charge of Infrastructure, Productive, Social and Political Sectors on behalf of the Secretary General. The upcoming courses are:

1. Tourism Marketing: June 2024 – October 2024
2. Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Management: November 2024 – February 2025
3. Tour Guiding: November 2024 – February 2025
4. Implementation of Sustainable Tourism Practices: March 2025 – June 2025
