Hotel industry in Uganda intensifies training to improve services

HOTEL ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES SPECIAL TRAINING SESSION FOR WESTERN UGANDAN HOTELS

On Friday this week will hotels in Western Uganda, in particular in the region around Mbarara, be able to attend a training workshop organized by the Uganda Hotel Owners Association focusing specifically on Kitchen Management. This follows other similar regional workshops which were held in recent weeks in Eastern and Central Uganda.

Ms. Jean Byamugisha, the association Executive Director, yesterday reiterated her invitation to hoteliers to attend the session when she sent out the following release:

Uganda Hotel Owners Associationin collaboration Impact Chefs Academy Uganda Ltd invitesHotel Managers, F/B Managers, Chefs and Cooks in Western Uganda (Kabale, Kasese, Fort Portal, Masaka, Bushenyi) for a Kitchen Management Techniques workshop to be held on Friday the 27th of March 2015 at the Agip Motel in Mbarara. .

This follows successful Kitchen empowerment workshops held in Nile Village Hotel, Jinja and Mbale Resort (Eastern Hotels), Grand Global Hotel Kampala, (Central Hotels) Flight Motel Entebbe (Entebbe Hotels) attended by over 500 hotel owners, manages, chefs and cooks.

UHOA is heeding the call of our members to help hotels upgrade their Food Production standards. Participants who work in Food Production Departments must come in full chef’s uniform. No chef will be allowed in civilian clothes. The key speakers will beChef Paul – Mbale Resort and Chef Andrew – Impact Chefs Academy.

UHOA would like to invite all Hotel Directors, Hotel Managers, Hotel Chefs, and Cooks or any other Staff in Food Production, Food and Beverage Staff from Hotels and Restaurants in the western region for this very special training. Thereafter, Hotel Owners and General Managers with have a meeting with the UHOA Executive Director.
