ZIMBABWE’S SANGANAI TOURISM FAIR CONSIDERED A MUST ATTEND FOR EAST AFRICA
(Posted 18th February 2015)
The 2015 edition of Zimbabwe’s international tourism trade expo will take place in the capital Harare from the 18th to the 20th of June. The event will be staged at the Harare International Conference Centre which adjoins the Rainbow Towers Hotel. The first two days will be dedicated to the tourism trade and B2B meetings while the final day will be open for the general public to come and see what other African countries, besides Zimbabwe herself, has to offer.
The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority has targeted additional African countries to exhibit at the trade fair and Eastern African countries in particular will rank high, after Zimbabwe made a range of contacts while attending the Magical Kenya Tourism Expo last year in Nairobi.
Participant target groups include, among others, national tourism boards – Zimbabwe hopes to welcome Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda to the show – airlines, tour safari operators, hotel groups, car hire companies but also potential investors, government bodies and authorities dealing with tourism and conservation and of course companies ready to showcase their lodges, resorts and safari camps.
The past seven editions of Sanganai/ Hlanganani were a resounding success and attracted the leading African destinations and major world tourism markets such as South Africa, Botswana, Malaysia, China, Zambia, Malawi, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Indonesia, India, Italy and many others. Past trade fair editions have seen high calibre international buyers as well as exhibitors from around the whole world come to Zimbabwe and renewed growth of the tourism industry is largely attributed to these marketing efforts.
Said the information received from Harare about the expected returns of attending the tourism trade show: ‘Participants at Sanganai/Hlanganani – World Tourism Expo stand to derive the following benefits:
