Festive Seychelles – The Creole Festival

Bright colours, festive music, and infectious energy all come together from 25 – 31 October in the Seychelles. During this week, visitors are given the fascinating opportunity to experience the colours, sounds, flavours and fragrances of the Creole Festival.

The creole festival is an expression of Seychellois and Creole identity and of course, a celebration of culture of the island. This is done through music, dance, arts, craft, cuisine, customs and the general way of life. The festival attracts an ever increasing number of international visitors who come to appreciate the festival’s highlights that include a Fashion Show, Moman Kreativite, Dimans Kreol Bor Lanmer, or Sunday on the beach, and music performance.

Celebrated on all the main islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue the Creol Festival is the main cultural event of the year in Seychelles. This year marks the 30th year of the festival with its official opening in Victoria, the capital.

This Creole nation is very proud of its traditions and all the islands will partake in the festivities over the whole week.
