(Posted 09th April 2015)

Kampala no doubt has become a lot more cosmopolitan in recent years and is catching up with some of the more fancied regional capitals as far as restaurants and activities is concerned.

Some 30 restaurants in the city will participate in staging Uganda’s first ever ‘Kampala Restaurant Week’ which in fact will run for 12 days, giving connoisseurs the opportunity to sample food of various ethnic backgrounds and denominations.

The set menus will offer two options it was learned from organizers Pearl Guide, a casual quick selection which goes at Uganda Shillings 15.000 per person and the so called signature option which will sell at 25.000 Uganda Shillings per person and best of all, no advance bookings are mandatory though of course recommended just to be sure to get a table at the preferred time.

Some of Kampala’s more fancied restaurants have signed up to the culinary festival, like the Mediterraneo, The Lawns, Café Pap, Il Patio Italian Restaurant, Yujo Japanese, Tamarai, The Bistro and the Makindye Country Club among others.

Visitors to Uganda in early June may well make a note in their diary and include lots of eating out in their itinerary, to sample the range of cuisines now available in Kampala.
