JAMBOJET HAD TWO NEW AIRCRAFT DUE FOR DELIVERY AHEAD OF BUSY FESTIVE SEASON

(Posted 08th December 2017)

Bombardier, the Canadian aircraft manufacturer, is expected to deliver two brand new Q400NextGen aircraft in the space of the next 8 days to Kenya Airways subsidiary JamboJet in Nairobi.
The aircraft shown above, named Heroe, is due to land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Sunday the 10th of December while sistership Tausi is due on the 16th of December.
Both aircraft are expected to enter commercial service promptly after finalising regulatory requirements and boost the airline’s fleet and seat capacity ahead of the busy Christmas and New Year season – which last year produced disastrous delays and flight cancellations due to lack of sufficient planes.
Both new aircraft join the airline on a long term lease.

Said Willem Hondius, CEO of Jambojet when the new order was announced just a few weeks ago: ‘The Q400 aircraft’s performance and economics have been exceptional as we position ourselves for rapid growth. Its proven operational capability in Africa’s hot and diverse landscape is an excellent asset in our portfolio. Our passengers are enjoying the experience and the aircraft continues to deliver significant value to the airline. We are looking at retiring our narrowbody fleet and transitioning to an all-Q400 fleet by end of this year. We are confident that the Q400 aircraft will allow us to implement our growth strategy as we strive to launch new routes and to respond to the anticipated increase in demand‘.
