Keep Calm And Go To Kenya

“Keep Calm and Go to Kenya…”

Outdoor Adventure

(From Dan Goodwin’s Diaries…)

‘Keep Calm and Go to Kenya’ as the slogans are saying and people are. We have been

very busy over the last couple of weeks with groups coming through on a wide range of

things from adventure training, outdoor education, community projects and safaris in

Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Our groups have come from as far away as the USA and

Singapore with a mix of groups from within Kenya and Tanzania.

Rhino Conservation

We have been using our sites in the Ngare Ndare forest and also around our Ol Pejeta
Wildlife Camp while construction continues a pace in our new Forest Camp near the
forest. One of our instructors is also a skilled carpenter and has been busy preparing
platforms for the new tents to be on where you will be able to have stunning views
across the forest and onto Mount Kenya with all the adventure activities on your door step.

Canyoning

There have also been families up from Nairobi escaping the city while the schools have
a mid term break. They have been relaxing in our new camp area in Ol Pejeta which
has private tents and ensuite facilities and provides a perfect base for either
safaris or activities.

Ol Pejeta Camp

There has been a fair amount of panic regarding Kenya over the last few weeks
but the groups who have come through have realised that the hype on western travel
boards is not applicable to Kenya as a whole. The Laikipia area has a strong reputation
for safety and security. All the groups who have come through have found it a relaxing
and peaceful area with plenty to do and none of the troubles that may have been indicated.
