Kenya Airways and Kenya Tourism affirm closer partnership

#KENYA’S NATIONAL AIRLINE AND TOURISM BOARD JOIN HANDS TO PROMOTE THE COUNTRY

(Posted 13th September 2017)

Kenya Airways and the Kenya Tourism Board recently moved to strengthen their partnership which was launched last year when one of the airline’s #Boeing #B787 #Dreamliners was christianed as a Magical Kenya flying ambassador.
During the brief ceremony did KTB chairman Jimi Kariuki speak on behalf of KTB when he said:

Ladies & Gentlemen

Finally, the Magical Kenya brand will be taking to the skies.
This is indeed a very positive development. It is one of the outcomes of the strategic marketing partnership between KTB, the national tourism marketing agency, & our national carrier Kenya Airways.

Last year in June, we were here to witness the naming of this Dreamliner 787 Magical Kenya by KQ. The next steps agreed were to brand the aircraft body, the headrests, the boarding passes as well as to develop videos and collateral on destination Kenya for inflight viewing and distribution onboard.
I am happy to confirm that all this is now done.

[Towards that end] I would like to commend the KTB & KQ marketing teams for making this opportunity a reality. Well done & we look forward to the next phase in this KQ / Magical Kenya aircraft branding project.

The big opportunity in this strategic marketing partnership lies in the region.
We must take full advantage of KQs regional route network to position our tourism products in these source markets & further grow the visitor numbers into Kenya from the region.
From East Africa, to West Africa, to Southern Africa & to the Middle East, this is where the growth opportunities lie for MagicalKenya.

The KTB & KQ will continue our partnership in the region & carry out join in-market activities, agents & media educationals & a give Magical Kenya a brand presence in the KQ offices in the regional markets.
KTB & KQ will benefit, but most important Kenya will benefit.
[Therefore] On behalf of the KTB I thank you all for taking the time this morning to join us for this launch.

Coming up in three weeks is the annual edition of the Magical Kenya Travel Expo where Kenya Airways will again be present as an anchor exhibitor with a large stand together with Kenya’s leading tourism and hospitality companies, regional tourism board and other sector related businesses.
