#Kenya – Lucky escape for all 10 on board as aircraft crashes in #Lamu District

A Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, registered in Kenya as  5Y-GOK, ownership and operator yet to be established, crashed soon after taking off from Kiunga airstrip / Lamu District, leaving all 10 on board nursing injuries. Those on board were two pilots and 8 passengers, reportedly mostly Kenya Defence Force soldiers.

According to reports from local sources did the aircraft hit electricity wires  and subsequently crashed in a coconut palm plantation, catching fire on the ground.
