Kenya Tourism showcases honeymoon options at Uganda’s ‘Bride and Groom’ Expo

BRIDE AND GROOM EXPO ATTRACTS REGIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATIONS TO SELL HONEYMOONS

Uganda, now globally the fourth ranking source country for visitors to Kenya, was the focus once again by the Kenya Tourism Board, which attended the annual ‘Bride and Groom‘ wedding show at the UMA showground in Lugogo which was hosted by the Vision Group Uganda and ran from 23rd to 25th of June 2017.
Uganda is currently the number 1 market in Africa into Kenya and number 4 globally having recorded a 75% increase from the same time last year. We are happy that the integrated approach to grow the market through campaigns , use of influencers like Eddy Kenzo and joint initiatives is bearing fruit and want to take advantage of platforms that keep Kenya top of mind for Ugandans‘ said KTB’s CEO Dr. Betty Radier at the opening of the EXPO.

KTB partnered with the EXPO organizers to leverage on this vantage positioning with a view of growing the number of visitors from Uganda into Kenya and said exclusive packages for honeymooners and wedding events have been developed to accommodate varied clientele visiting different parts of the country.

The EXPO attracted over 8000 visitors through the three days and presented visitors an opportunity to visit the Magical Kenya stand where they sampled tastes of Kenya’s culture. This was implemented through like henna painting which is popularly used on brides in the coastal areas, play and win where visitors got an opportunity to play and win various branded gifts.

There was also a chance to win a 4 day trip to Kenya through registration at a Magical Kenya micro site that was fully dedicated to the EXPO and was available on the website www.magicalkenya.com

It was also implemented in culture displays through interactions with the Maasai cultural ambassadors that attracted many visitors.

Various properties supported the KTB through availing honeymoon offers which were also included in the website. These properties included The Sands Kenya, Swahili Beach Hotel, Pride Inn Paradise Beach resort and the Hilton Nairobi.

At the close of the EXPO, Magical Kenya emerged as winner of the best stand for exhibiting with excellence with KTB senior staff Wausi Walya receiving the trophy on behalf of KTB.
