Kenyan Man Loses His Mercedes Benz to Assets Recovery Agency After Arrest for Illegal Wildlife Trade

The High Court in Nairobi has ruled that a Kenyan man who was arrested for illegal poaching will lose his Mercedes-Benz to the Assets Recovery Agency. However, he will retain two commercial plots in Mathare North valued at KSh 21 million after the court dismissed the agency’s bid to forfeit them. In the judgement delivered on April 17, 2026, Justice Benjamin Musyoki declared that motor vehicle registration number KBE 416Y Mercedes-Benz was an instrumentality of crime and ordered it forfeited to the government.
