Kenya’s ‘heavyweights’ join hands to promote the country

KENYATTA INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE PARTNERS WITH NATIONAL AIRLINE

(Posted 04th October 2015)

Kenya’s premier conference and meeting facility in the heart of the capital Nairobi, the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, and national airline Kenya Airways, last week put pen to paper to sign an extensive Memorandum of Understanding aimed to promote the country as a key African MICE destination.

The KICC will be the venue for the 40th Annual Congress of the Africa Travel Association in November and soon afterwards host the World Trade Organization’s 10th Ministerial Conference between the 15th and 18th of December.

Kenya Airways is Official Airline for both events and the renewed and widened partnership with the national convention centre – KQ had a few weeks earlier signs a similar deal with the Kenya Tourist Board – is seen to be of strategic value aimed to bring more MICE events to Kenya, a hugely profitable market segment growing fast.

Additional hotels coming on line shortly or which are in an advanced pipeline status, like the 5 star Radisson Blu by Rezidor, which is soft opening on the 26th of October, will provide Nairobi with yet more beds managed by global brand names, increasing the appeal of Kenya as a premier meeting and holiday destination.
