On the afternoon of March 28, 2026, Kenya Wildlife Service investigators arrested Nyamawi Rwanda Kulemba in Lunga Lunga. He was on a Haojin motorcycle with four elephant tusks loaded on the carrier. The haul weighed 39 kilogrammes. The arrest was processed, a press release was issued, and the machinery of Kenyan wildlife enforcement moved on. It was, by every official measure, a success. It was also, by every honest measure, a symptom.
