LAM has received two Embraer E190 regional jets in Maputo as part of its fleet renewal and restructuring programme.
The aircraft, registered C9-AMA and C9-AMB, previously operated with KLM Cityhopper before being prepared in South Africa for delivery to Mozambique.
Both jets carry the new Air Mozambique branding, marking the first visible step in the airline’s planned rebranding.
LAM said trained crews and technical resources are already in place, with commercial entry expected once regulatory procedures are completed.
The aircraft form part of a wider restructuring plan that also includes Dash 8 Q400 turboprops, new state-owned shareholders, and fresh capital after years of operational and financial pressure.
The Mozambique government also approved the acquisition of two Dash 8 Q400’s as part of the ongoing fleet renewal.
