#LAMU CULTURAL FESTIVAL – ONE OF #KENYA’S BEST

From Wednesday the 15th of November in the morning until Saturday the 18th into the night will the Lamu Cultural Festival once again capture the imagination of visitors from near and far.
The festival combines a celebration of history and heritage and brings out the best of Lamu’s long traditions, honouring ancient crafts, games, poetry and food among others.
Past, present and future are at play when the festival kicks off and donkey and dhow races excite visitors as much as do poetry sessions while spicey food sets taste buds alight.

Lamu can be reached with ease from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport but of late also from Mombasa with daily scheduled flights by airlines such as Safarilink, Air Kenya and Skyward and a large variety of hotels, resorts and even private B&B and added information about available accommodation in Lamu can be found through the following web links: http://lamutourism.org/places-to-stay/ and

Even though lodgings are very likely almost sold out by now as many visitors plan a year ahead to be sure to get seats on airlines and a beds in their favourite hotels to seek Kenya’s ancient heritage celebrated in style, there may yet be a chance to get accommodated.

For those readers, who can still secure air seats and accommodation, this festival is the November highlight in Kenya’s tourism calendar and will then be followed by the Maulidi Festival in December (11th to 15th), but more about that in a few weeks time.
