A Billion Tourists – A Billion Opportunities is a slick slogan to highlight just how much the global tourism industry has grown in recent years and what economic impact the sector now has on in particular some African countries.

Following a recent visit to Rwanda and, as part of the media itinerary a visit to the Red Rocks site near Musanze, did it come as little surprise that local entrepreneur Greg Bakunzi put up the party signs for this weekend’s World Tourism Day, which is celebrated on the 27th of September every year.

Read on to find out what is planned at Red Rocks and if in Rwanda and more specifically in or near Musanze, by all means pay them a visit and help celebrate the occasion:

World Tourism Day is this Sunday and we will be celebrating at Red Rock Rwanda. The goal of this annual event is to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value. The event seeks to address global challenges outlined by the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and to highlight the contribution the tourism sector can make in reaching these goals.
