Maximise Your Airport Real Estate

Real estate development could act as a catalyst for the successful future of many African airports.  It was reported that whilst airport revenues dropped by 43% between 2019 to 2020, income from real estate remained robust and dropped ‘only’ 12% according to the ACI Airport Economics 2022 Report.

Marcel Langeslag, Director Aviation Africa, NACO has written an article in Airport World, expanding on many of these topics, which you can access here.

With the release of this article, we spoke to Marcel and discussed just how resilient real estate is and why this is, how African airports can fit with the airport city concept, what specific developments African airports can look at as potential real estate development opportunities and what the main ingredients are to ensure success.

Finally we discussed, what airports can expect to gain from attending the inaugural AviaDev Real Estate event – a new forum connecting African airports with real estate investors, developers and professional advisors.  The event will take place on Wednesday 14 June, in the same week as the Africa Hospitality Investment Forum and AviaDev Africa.

AviaDev Real Estate will focus on the benefits of utilising airport real estate and will connect the owners and operators of African airports to those with the finance, skills and contacts to develop the land and maximise its revenue potential.

AviaDev Real Estate is included

as part of the attendee pass for those attending AviaDev.
