Mihin Lanka sets date for third Seychelles frequency

MIHIN LANKA’S THIRD SEYCHELLES FLIGHT TO START ON 30TH OCTOBER

(Posted 22nd September 2014)

Mihin Lanka, Sri Lanka’s second airline, has confirmed that their third flight from Colombo to Mahe will commence on the 30th of October, then serving the Seychelles’ main island on traffic days 2, 4 and 6.

The flights presently offer a swift connection from across the Mihin network, now standing at 12 destinations, but also from partner Sri Lankan to the Seychelles, with in particular travellers from India now able to fly to Mahe on a low cost airline, able to spend their money in the destination rather than getting to the destination. Mihin presently flies to Dehli, Gaya, Madurai and Varanasi and will be adding the Pakistani capital Lahore from mid November.

Also on the network are Jakarta and Medan in Indonesia and for 2015 has the airline already announced planned flights to Kathmandu and Chittagong, the second destination in Bangladesh after Dhaka.

An interlining agreement with Sri Lankan allows the much wider network of the national carrier of Sri Lanka to feed traffic to the Seychelles from many more destinations in India and across the Far East.

Relations between the two island nations are warm and friendly with several recent visits by both head of state during which trade and tourism cooperation, among other matters of mutual concern like global warming and rising ocean levels, were discussed.
