Mohammed Hersi hands over KTF Chair to Fred Odek

CHANGE OF LEADERSHIP AT THE HELM OF THE KENYA TOURISM FEDERATION AS FRED ODEK SUCCEEDS MOHAMMED HERSI AS CHAIRMAN

(Posted 16th July 2021)

After serving for four years as Chairman of the Kenya Tourism Federation has Mohammed Hersi – one of Kenya’s highest profile tourism private sector stakeholders – stepped down and handed over to his erstwhile Vice Chair Mr. Fred Odek.
Wrote Mohammed on his Facebook page on the occasion:

After 4 years of serving Kenya Tourism Federation as Chairman , my two term of 4 years has come an end as I pass the baton to Fred Odek of Silver Tours who was my vice Chair for the same period.

Alex Avedi of Fly Safarilink comes in Vice Chair .

I would like to thank the entire board and the industry for the support they accorded me during my tenure .

It was a challenging period but I leave KTF a stronger voice on matters Tourism as the umbrella body. I also want to thank Government for all the support they have given us .

I have no doubt in my mind that the new team will raise the bar to an even higher level.

Adios

As always I choose to remain an optimist.

Mohammed Hersi

ATCNews extends sincere thanks to Mohammed for the work he has done for the tourism industry, not just at KTF but previously as Chair of the Kenya Coast Tourist Association and in other capacities.
Never shy of calling a spade a space was Mohammed for many years the voice of Kenya tourism, a position he used to better the fortunes of the industry.
To Fred Odek it is a warm welcome to the KTF Chair and all the best for the challenging time ahead, alongside Alex Avedi, CEO of Safarilink, who is deputizing Fred for his term of office.
