HARPER’S BAZAAR MAGAZINE FROM CHINA CHOOSES REUNION FOR PHOTO SHOOT

A team from the women’s magazine Harper’s Bazaar China arrived yesterday in La Réunion for a major weeklong photoshoot. The two models are accompanied by technicians and a photographer who will travel across the island in search of locations.
Harper’s China has over the years become a veritable and true institution of fashion in China with nearly 1.4 million magazine copies sold every month and the photo shoot will appear in the magazine covering the themes of adventure and honeymoon. A total of twenty pages to be published with pictures from Destination Reunion spread over the months of June and July 2015. All the articles and photographs will also be published and distributed further throughout China via their social networks Weibo and WeChat.

A tailor made programme was prepared for the group by the Reunion Island Tourism (IRT), to also experience and discover the island between photo shoot sessions. Planned are helicopter flights over the island over all the attractions which can be seen from the air, a visit to the museum dedicated to sea turtles in Kélonia in Saint-Leu, the experience of transparent kayak trip across the lagoon, a trip to the Piton de la Fournaise, a stroll through the streets of St. Peter to discover the historical buildings and see the unique architecture, flying over the west coast paragliding 800 meters above sea level, explore the open market of Saint Paul and the cobbled alleys. Also on the visiting schedule are the Wild South, exploring some of the spectacular lava tubes and a visit of Notre-Dame des Laves, the Church of St. Anne and the Hindu temple Beaufonds, a hike in the Mafate and visit the interior of Salazie including the village of Hell-Bourg, which constitutes for many a trip back in time. It is a comprehensive and packed programme for these fashion professionals to give them the very best Reunion has to offer.
