More European destinations for Emirates’ passengers

EMIRATES SET FOR OSLO AND BRUSSELS LAUNCH THIS WEEK

(Posted 02nd September 2014)

Later today will Emirates, Dubai’s award winning national airline, operate the inaugural flight to Norway’s capital city of Oslo, before on Friday then launching flights to the European and Belgian capital of Brussels.

Both destinations will be served with daily flights, using the airline’s B777-300ER in a three class configuration of First, Business and Economy class.

The news will be welcomed not only by regular travelers with Emirates for being able to reach yet more destinations in Europe but also by the tourism as well as the export industry across East Africa.

The new flights also offer a substantial upload capacity for fresh produce and flowers to reach yet more market places in Europe with new destination Oslo opening up the Norwegian market and new destination Brussels opening the doors to one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Europe, where restaurants and ethnic households are keen to see fresh produce arrive from Eastern Africa to satisfy demand.

In turn will the tourism sectors across the three East African destinations of Emirates, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, likely benefit as the one stop connections will allow Norwegians and Belgians to fly to East Africa for holidays, once a day to Entebbe and twice a day each to Nairobi and Dar es Salaam.

At the same time did Emirates yesterday switch from the B777 to the A380 for their flights to Frankfurt, a significant capacity increase and also a potential bonus for East Africa’s tourism industry as more seats, combined with strong marketing in Germany, can easily translate in more tourist visitors for Mombasa’s beaches and the region’s national parks.
