Air Seychelles, only two days after announcing the addition of 21 code shared flights to Mumbai in conjunction with partner Etihad, has yesterday afternoon expanded their range of destinations with code shared flights to Amman / Jordan. Effective today will passengers traveling with Air Seychelles have the choice of double daily connections out of Abu Dhabi to the Jordanian capital. This latest development comes on the heels of already offering code shared flights from Abu Dhabi to such cities on the Arabian peninsula like Jeddah and Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Muscat in Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait from where tourists destined for the archipelago can now use an Air Seychelles HM flight number all the way to Mahe.

The airline’s CEO Manoj Papa, when making the announcement in Victoria yesterday, said: ‘With this codeshare we are able to offer residents of Jordan an appealing travelling proposition based on convenient, one-stop access to Seychelles via Abu Dhabi. In turn, this will continue to stimulate the number of travellers visiting our archipelago from the Middle East, an important source market that recorded over 20,000 arrivals in 2014.This codeshare is a perfect example of how by working with Etihad Airways we are able to grow our network reach and simultaneously drive more growth in the Seychelles economy through the tourism sector’.

Air Seychelles and Etihad presently offer 13 weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and Mahe, a number expected to rise eventually to double daily. Air Seychelles uses their Airbus A330-200 on the route while Etihad continues to operate their Airbus A320, both however configured with business and economy class.
