Qatar Airways has once again been named Best Middle East Airline Serving China at the 2015 Business Traveller China Awards, picking up the award for the fourth consecutive year.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Mr. Akbar Al Baker, responded to the honour when he said: ‘To be recognised and counted among the best airlines serving the Chinese market is a great honour for Qatar Airways. We are delighted to have won this accolade for the fourth straight year and would like to thank all our valued passengers who have travelled with us and who voted for us. This win underscores our commitment to providing unforgettable flight experiences through our five-star service’.

Mr. Paul Johannes, Vice President of Qatar Airways North Asia, accepted the award at the ceremony held in Beijing on Friday night, which gathered leading players from the aviation, travel and trade industries, recognising their efforts and dedication to the industry.

Our success stems from our philosophy to place passenger experience at the centre of our business and to offer an unrivalled five-star service for all travelers. We have been in China for more than a decade, and the Chinese market is one of great importance to us. We remain deeply committed to this region and to serving the travel needs of our Chinese travellers with our award-winning service’ said Mr. Paul when accepting the award on behalf of Qatar Airways. The awards are a result of passenger votes which are audited by an independent company to ensure the highest possible accuracy and avoid any suggestion of being bought awards or having been manipulated.

The airline flies to several destinations in Eastern Africa, including Entebbe, Kigali, Nairobi, Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar though still not to Mombasa where Kenyan regulators have proven to be the greatest obstacle to adding yet another key city in the region and connecting Kenya’s beaches to the world.

In a related development has Qatar Airways and the airline’s hub airport, Hamad International in Doha, also won two more accolades last week in Singapore, one of the destinations now served by QR’s latest passenger aircraft the Airbus A350XWB.

Qatar Airways was named Best Full Service Airline in Western Asia at the inaugural Future Travel Experience (FTE) Asia Awards 2015 held in Singapore. The Doha-based carrier was presented with the award for providing outstanding in-flight and end-to-end customer experience. The award winners were chosen through consultation with a panel of industry experts.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: ‘We are delighted to be named Best Full Service Airline in Western Asia. The win is further proof that Qatar Airways provides our passengers across all cabins with a compelling product and in-flight experience that is head and shoulders above the competition. Not only do we fly one of the youngest and newest fleets in the sky, our customers have come to expect enhanced customer experience across all touch points when they fly with Qatar Airways and this award demonstrates how our consistent passenger-centric approach has paid off’.

Qatar Airways’ state-of-the-art home and hub, Hamad International Airport, was also named Best Airport in Western Asia at the FTE Asia Awards.

Held in Singapore, the FTE Asia Expo 2015 was the biggest FTE show in its 10-year history, attracting more than 1,000 senior travel industry figures from the region and beyond. The Expo provided a unique platform for airlines and airports in the region to share ideas and view the very latest solutions in one place to help them improve customer experiences, increase revenues, drive operational efficiency and reduce costs.
