As Morocco breaks tourism records and hospitality and infrastructure investment soars ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, API Events 3rd Annual Morocco Showcase on 26 November brings global brands, sovereign backed funds, tourism officials, DFIs and local operators together to capitalise on institutional-grade opportunities, economic and political stability and deepened capital markets

As the most-visited country in Africa and the next host of the FIFA World Cup, Morocco is in the midst of an unprecedented era of infrastructure and hospitality development, setting a timely stage for Morocco Showcase to highlight the country’s maturation as a prime destination for global capital investment.

Morocco’s tourism development agency Société Marocaine d’Ingénierie Touristique (SMIT) is the institutional investment partner for the 3rd Annual edition of the event in Casablanca. The Tourism Ministry plans to add 60 000 hotel beds before the 2030 World Cup.

As an example of global confidence in the country, Radisson Hotel Group has targeted expansion in Morocco from 11 to 30 hotels by 2030.

“Morocco offers a compelling opportunity for hotel development, supported by investment in infrastructure and a clear ambition to grow its tourism sector,” said Erwan Garnier, Associate Vice President, Development, Africa, at Radisson Hotel Group.

“Radisson Hotel Group is working with owners to identify the right brand and operating model for each location, from urban business hubs to established leisure destinations. As preparations for the FIFA World Cup gather pace, the opportunity is to create hotels with lasting commercial potential,” added Garnier.

“Morocco Showcase brings investors, developers and operators together at an important moment to explore partnerships and move projects forward,” he continued.

Transactions and signings surge

W Hospitality Group’s 2026 Hotel Chain Development Pipelines in Africa report puts Morocco second on the continent. A total of 75 hotels and 10 606 rooms are in the pipeline, with 70% due to open in 2026 and 2027.

David Desta, Vice President, Hotels & Hospitality, Africa, at JLL, said that Morocco continues to strengthen its position as one of Africa’s most appealing hospitality and tourism investment destinations.

“Strong visitor demand, expanding air connectivity, government-backed tourism initiatives and the continued growth of international hotel brands are supporting long-term confidence in the market. We expect sustained investor interest across hospitality, mixed-use and broader real estate sectors, particularly in gateway cities such as Casablanca and Marrakech.”

Since 2025, Casablanca-listed owner-operator Risma has completed two major acquisitions (the Tangier Corniche plot and the purchase of CMG – owner of Radisson Blu Marrakech Carré Eden and the adjoining mall) valued at $67 million, and the $46 million sale of Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche to Pickalbatros. In April, it strengthened its partnership with Accor for the renovation and repositioning of hotels and the launch of the Tangier Corniche development.

The capital markets behind these deals are deepening. The Casablanca Stock Exchange, capitalised above MAD1 trillion ($103 billion), welcomed its 80th listing in December 2025 and launched a futures market and clearing house in April this year.

Meanwhile, pan-African independent real estate private equity firm Kasada, backed by the Qatar Investment Authority and Accor, has been selected by the Mohammed VI Investment Fund to manage a Moroccan tourism fund. In March, S&P Global affirmed Morocco at investment grade (BBB-, stable), and Moody’s affirmed Ba1 with a positive outlook, citing solid institutional and governance strength.

“We’re witnessing an unprecedented commitment of global capital – from the likes of GCC sovereign wealth funds and DFIs – into Morocco’s hospitality and infrastructure growth ambitions,” said API Events Commercial Director Murray Anderson. “At Morocco Showcase, we’re excited to bring the major roleplayers behind this growth, and those eyeing the opportunities, together to shape the future of hospitality and real estate landscape ahead of and beyond the 2030 FIFA World Cup.”

Expert-led hospitality sessions at Showcase Morocco will include:

  • Hotel performance: occupancy, ADR and RevPAR in Morocco’s key cities against global peers, and the demand effect of mega-events set against Morocco’s trajectory to 2030.
  • How local and regional operators are scaling alongside the expansion of international brands.
  • How boutique, high-end luxury and eco-tourism brands are entering the market, including founder economics, fee structures and European boutique operators moving into Morocco.

Capital and real estate

A capital, product and wealth stream will cover how Moroccan family offices are moving from direct development into co-investment and fund structures, and what turns diaspora interest into committed capital. Mixed-use leaders will set out what a viable precinct needs, including critical size, equity ticket, investor profile and location. The industrial, commercial and alternatives streams will cover logistics demand along the Tangier Med corridor, foreign investment in special economic zones, and office and retail yields.

The closing plenary asks Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakech and Rabat to pitch directly to capital on land availability and pricing, the asset classes that suit each city, and where the early-mover window is still open.

The event concludes with the Morocco Showcase Awards gala dinner, acknowledging successes in Commercial, Residential, Hospitality, Green Development, Innovation and Lifetime Achievement.
