MOUNT KENYA IS BURNING. WE NEED YOUR HELP !!!
A wildfire was detected at Kibiaranyeki on 1 September. Since then, teams from Mount Kenya Trust, KFS, KWS, Ntimaka CFA, Lewa, Rhino Ark and Rutundu have been fighting relentlessly to contain the flames. Coordination and aerial support have also been provided by Lewa, Borana and others.
Driven by dry vegetation and strong winds, the fire is splitting and rapidly spreading to Chogoria.
Our trained rangers and community teams are on the mountain, working in steep, harsh terrain, through long hours, using fire beaters, rakes and protective gear.
But they cannot do this alone.

Some of these may seem like simple things, but right now, they are essential to keeping our teams on the ground and fighting. Together, we are feeding around 300 people per day.
