NANYUKI CIVIL AIRSTRIP – UNSERVICEABLE

Heavy rains have been pounding parts of Kenya once again over the weekend and inflicted damage to road and other infrastructure.
Air Kenya just announced that they will for the time being halt flights to Nanyuki until the field is meeting safety standards again and traffic destined for Nanyuki will be routed to either Lewa Downs or Kamok, the latter subject to dry conditions.
Passengers booked should contact the reservations department of Air Kenya.
The same is likely to apply to other bush and beach airlines too and it is recommended that passengers traveling by air ascertain the state of their landing strip in advance of leaving for the airport – just in case different pick up or drop off locations need to be arranged.
