RWANDA DEVELOPMENT BOARD WILL BEGIN TO ISSUE TOURISM BUSINESS LICENSES FROM DECEMBER

Tour and safari operators, travel agents, guides but also accommodation providers, restaurants, bars and nightclubs will, come December this year, have to obtain their business licenses from the Rwanda Development Board’s tourism department, it was learned overnight.
A law passed two years ago is now coming into effect and tourism stakeholders have been informed accordingly during a meeting organized by RTTA, the Rwanda Tour and Travel Association for their members.
RDB staff was providing relevant information during the workshop as one of the agenda items, to alert companies to the upcoming changes and the need to comply with the new regulations.
RDB earlier in the month organized the 12th edition of Kwita Izina, the annual naming of the young born gorillas and attracted thousands of added visitors to Rwanda to witness the event.
In a related development will RwandAir take delivery of their first new Airbus A330-200, named Ubumwe, in less than two weeks time in Toulouse / France. The aircraft is expected to make its maiden landing in Kigali on the 28th of September and readers can expect live updates and reports from the handover ceremony in Toulouse, the flight to Rwanda – the aircraft is outfitted with WiFi connectivity – and the after landing party in Kigali.
The new aircraft registration can now also be revealed, being 9XR-WN on the Rwanda Civil Aviation registry while sistership Umurage’s registration – the second A330 is due for delivery in November – is likely to be 9XR-WP.
