No let up in Reunion’s marketing campaign

Reunion, the French Indian Ocean island, was at it until the very last hours of last year, in promoting travel to this amazing destination. IRT, as the Ile de la Reunion Tourisme office is known in short, has from late last year stepped up their campaign to attract tourists, since the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands organization was formally announced in September in the presence of UNWTO Secretary General Taleb Rifai. Already given greater visibility through their partnership with the Seychelles as co-host of the Carneval International de Victoria, which this year is going into its fourth edition, the island’s tourism gurus built on increased brand recognition by bringing in scores of travel agents and travel media to showcase its attractions.
