Access to water remains one of the biggest challenges to wellbeing and livelihoods in this semi-arid part of Kenya. Ol Pejeta have a dedicated water and agriculture team that looks for ways to support communities with water access, and recently won a US$7,000 grant from the US Embassy to Kenya to complete the piping for a water source in Tigithi.
The grant was officially signed on the 17th of October in a ceremony attended by the US Ambassador to Kenya, Kyle McCarter, Ol Pejeta representatives, the chairperson of the Tigithi Water and Sanitation Team and over 250 community members. This grant will enable around 1,400 households to have access to clean water. |
