PRECISION AIR LAUNCH 25TH ANNIVERSAY CELEBRATIONS

Tanzanian airline Precision Air will today launch its 25th anniversary celebrations. The company, which was founded in 1993 by a Tanzanian businessman Mr.Michael Shirima, stands out among the few airlines in Africa that have managed to stay in business for 25 years consecutively.
Established as a private charter air transport company operating a five – seater piper Aztec aircraft, Precision Air has grown to become one of the most successful stories in Tanzania and East Africa, now operating a fleet of 9 ATR 42 and 72 aircraft. Precision Air presently flies from Dar es Salaam to Arusha, Bukoba, Kilimanjaro, Kahama, Mtwara, Mwanza, Tabora, Zanzibar, Seronera, Nairobi and Entebbe.
Commenting on the celebrations Precision Air’s Marketing and Corporate Affairs Manager Mr. Hillary Mremi, said Precision Air is very proud of the milestone as a Tanzanian brand and that the celebrations are not only for Precision Air but also for the entire country.
“This is evidence that we can grow our own local brands and businesses as our beloved President Dr. John Joseph Pombe Magufuli always tell us that we can achieve anything if we believe in ourselves and work hard. Precision Air is a homegrown company owned by Tanzanians that has received enormous support from Wananchi and the Government and as a result, we are today celebrating 25 years of service‘ he added before concluding: “In celebrating our silver Jubilee we are launching a series of special fares that will allow people who have not experienced air transport to have an opportunity to try it. To start with, we are giving people travelling from Dar es Salaam to Kilimanjaro the opportunity to sample our flight at a price of Tsh.50,000/- only, all inclusive. This fare will be available through our website and sales outlets across the country. We would like to inform the public to be prepared as any time this offer will be for their destination.”
Among the achievements that Precision Air has been able to record over the past quarter of a century are:

2013 – The Best Domestic Scheduled Airline in Tanzania 2013 by the Tanzania Society of Travel Agents.
2012 – Bronze Award in the African Airline of the Year Awards 2011/2012 awarded by African Aviation News.
2011 – Listing of the company at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange.
2011 – Launch of USD5.4 Million ultra-modern hangar.
2011 – TASOTA Domestic Airline of the Year 2011.
2010 – Voted AFRAA Regional Airline of the Year 2010.
2009 – Granted a Self-Handling License by the TCAA.
2008 – CEO’s Most Respected Company in Tanzania.
2007 – Started the Fleet modernization program.
2006 – Voted the Most Respected Company in Tanzania.
2006 – Tanzania’s Airline of the Year Award.
2006 – Precision Air became the 3rd Airline in Africa to embrace E-Ticket technology.
2006 – Achieved IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) Certification (6th in Africa & 1st in Tanzania).
