UGANDAN DELEGATION TO MKTE 2015 OFFERS DESTINATION TRAINING

(Posted 15th October 2015)

Uganda will use the presence of 174 hosted buyers at the Magical Kenya Travel Expo tomorrow to offer some destination training during a breakfast session at the Leisure Lodge’s Mandhari Hall, starting at 7 am and ending at 09.30 in time to join the B2B meetings at the main exhibition.

The regional tourism boards have agreed to use national events to also showcase their own complementary offerings and ensure that trade visitors from abroad learn about the varied attractions in the entire region and not just one country.

At MKTE 2015 it is Uganda’s turn to take advantage of the groundbreaking agreement and safari operators, hotel and lodge representatives will be keen to answer questions about what the Pearl of Africa has to offer.

The common tourist Visa, now available on entry in either Kenya, Uganda or Rwanda – Tanzania is still refusing to accept the overwhelming advantages of joining the scheme – permits visitors to obtain one Visa valid for all three countries without any added cost and flights by Kenya Airways and RwandAir across the region offer easy access by air to the key locations.

New for Uganda is the more recent addition of a championship golfcourse at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort which narrow fairways, lined by water, offer even more experienced golfers a challenge worth taking up. Having recently visited the resort, the advice from this correspondent is ‘Bring a box of balls’.
