REUNION TOURISM RESUMES AGENTS FAM TRIPS TO PROMOTE THE ISLAND

(Posted 29th January 2014)

The Reunion Tourism Office has resumed their fam trip activity by bringing a group of 12 French travel agents to the island, working hand in hand with local DMC Mille Tours and French tour operator SOLEA.

Over the space of 4 days the group was able to see the magnificent interior of the island, the rugged valleys, gorges, waterfalls and steep rockfaces as they were flying across Reunion by helicopter, visited the Piton de la Fournaise, one of the most active volcanoes in the world, experienced canyoning, went to sea on a yacht and enjoyed visits to some of the island’s key resorts and restaurants, all of which allowed them to sample the range of activities their clients can enjoy when coming for a holiday to Reunion.

This French Indian Ocean Island, part of the Vanilla Island Organization, offers all the infrastructure of Europe as found in France itself but offers that unique tropical blend of Creole culture, art, crafts, music and cuisine, which makes it a favourite among intrepid travellers.

Reunion will participate as a co-host in the Seychelles Carnival in April and also in April will the Reunion capital of St. Denis be the venue for the launch of the new Vanilla Islands TV station OI7, which will be another platform to promote tourism and culture among this unique group of islands which spreads from the Maldives to Reunion and includes the Seychelles, Mauritius, Madagascar, Mayotte and the Comoros.
