Annual working meeting of the hiking partners of Reunion’s reservation platform

Earlier this month the reservation platform of Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) invited the owners of the island’s hiking lodges to their second annual meeting. Hosted by La Nouvelle, in the heart of the Mafate circus, the partners were able to meet, share their experiences and pool their skills.

The hiking lodge Le Relais de Mafate welcomed 17 owners of hiking lodges, all partners of the regional reservation platform, at the second annual meeting organized by the IRT. Over the course of a morning, these local tourism stakeholders were brought together in order to maintain the dynamics of the network and allow them to exchange experiences in terms of hosting hikers.

The meeting was also an opportunity for Isabelle Nativel, Information and Marketing Director of IRT, to present the new booking platform convention to owners and managers of lodgings, as well as explain the actions to be carried out in the second half of 2017. Participants were also able to express their wishes, ideas and proposals concerning the actions to be implemented for 2018. The organization of this meeting offered the possibility to stakeholders in a common field to share their knowledge but also to discuss the problems encountered in their specialised area of activity.

This meeting, according to an IRT source, was a great success among the professionals present who before leaving, set the date and venue for next year in Saint-Philippe, for the third annual working meeting.
