RwandAir’s fleet grows to a dozen

27TH MAY SET FOR DELIVERY OF RWANDAIR’S FOURTH BOEING B737-800NG

(Posted 19th May 2017)

In just over a week will RwandAir take delivery of their fourth brand new Boeing B787-800NG, completing the outstanding order of two additional such aircraft this year.
Configured in a two class cabin layout does the new aircraft, novel in Africa and in fact in much of the rest of the aviation world, feature inflight WiFi which passengers can access while above 10.000 feet.
The RwandAir fleet now comprises one Airbus A330-200, one Airbus A330-300, four Boeing B737-800NG’s, two Boeing B737-700NG’s, two Bombardier CRJ900NextGen’s and two Bombardier Q400NextGen’s, making it a full dozen newly acquired aircraft.
This makes RwandAir one of the fastest growing airlines in Africa and the one with the arguably youngest fleet in the skies.
A day prior to the new aircraft making its maiden landing in Kigali will the airline also launch flights from the Rwandan capital to London Gatwick, which will be operated initially three times a week. This will be the first nonstop connection between Rwanda and the UK.

  1. I think Rwandair will do the Rwanda to UK flight via Entebbe ?

  2. It is really impressive what RwandAir is doing. As a business person it has opened up many new export markets and this is undoubtedly going to be great for business and connecting new markets.
