RwandAir’s ‘Ubumwe’ ready for commercial deployment

NEW AIRBUS A330 SET FOR COMMERCIAL MAIDEN FLIGHT

(Posted 07th October 2016)

This will be the view airport staff and Rwandans living near Kigali International Airport will have later this morning, as the airline’s brand new Airbus A330-300 takes to the skies for her commercial maiden flight.
After carrying out a week of regulatory flights into the region has the day finally come when ‘Ubumwe‘, a Kinyarwanda word for ‘Unity; will begin her long career flying Rwanda’s colours across Africa and beyond.
Flight WB 214 will leave Kigali for Douala, Libreville and Cotonou, where the new aircraft will be shown to travel agents and corporate clients, giving them one more reason to chose RwandAir to fly with.
The three class Airbus A330 offers 20 state of the art flatbed business class seats, 21 premium economy class seats in a separate cabin and 203 economy class seats with an 18 inch width, the widest such economy seat in the industry.
When the aircraft then returns to Kigali later in the day will the next flight be taking to the skies for a nonstop flight to Dubai where the aircraft will be deployed four times a week in conjunction with at least three weekly services to Lagos.
Happy Landings to ‘Ubumwe‘, her crews and all the passengers.
