Rwanda’s Aviation, Travel and Logistics company gets new CEO

RWANDA APPOINTS NEW CEO AND COO FOR THE NATIONAL AVIATION HOLDING COMPANY

Mr. Lucky Cheong was earlier in February appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Mr. Seong-Soo Kang as the Chief Operating Officer of the Rwandan Aviation, Travel and Logistics Holding Limited, the parastatal formed as a sectoral umbrella organization. Mr. Lucky Cheong from Singapore holds a Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering MBA and can look back at a almost four decades of experience in the aviation industry.

Mr. Seong-Soo Michael Kang hails from South-Korea and is a Civil Engineering MBA holder. He specialized in Airport Operations & Management.
ATLH comprises of five subsidiaries, all falling into its reporting line after the Rwandan cabinet last year approved the restructuring of the sector: RwandAir, Airports Company Rwanda, Akagera Aviation Ltd , Rwanda Tours & Events Ltd and Rwanda Links Logistics Ltd which is a new cargo and freight handling company.

It will be Cheong and Seong-Soo’s task to now oversee the construction of the new Bugesera International Airport but also provide guidelines to the national airline which is on a massive expansion drive with its first intercontinental flights due to be launched in April to Mumbai, followed later in the year to London and New York.
