#Safarilink set to add Tanzanian aviation charges and taxes to tickets

VAT ON FUEL & TANZANIA SECURITY TAX

22nd October 2018.

VAT on Fuel
Dear ATC Readers,

Thank you for your continued business support during this busy high season, for which we are very grateful. Unfortunately, the increase in fuel prices since January and the recent implementation of VAT on fuel is no longer sustainable, so we regret to inform you that we are compelled to apply a fuel surcharge of $2 per sector for all passengers traveling from 01st December. This surcharge is applicable on both domestic and international flights.

Tanzania Security Tax
We have received notification from the Tanzania Airport Authority of a new Security fee of $2 for domestic flights within Tanzania and $5 for international flights departing from Tanzania, applicable from 1st November 2018. You may have already seen some notifications from some Tanzanian operators. We will therefore apply the additional domestic fee according to the respective carriers policy, but please note we will be adding a $5 surcharge for all passengers departing from Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar on Safarilink flights travelling from 1st December 2018.This therefore means our taxes from Zanzibar and Kilimanjaro to Wilson will increase by $7 incorporating both the security fee and our VAT fuel Surcharge.
For both above situations, any passengers already ticketed up to 31 December 2018 will be exempted but the surcharges will be applicable on all other bookings.
?We apologize for the inconveniences this may cause but thank you for your co-operation and understanding. For more information or clarifications, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or through our website
