ECO WARRIOR NOMINEE SAFARILINK COMMITS TO ANOTHER DASH 8 AIRCRAFT AS FLEET GROWS
(Posted 14th October 2016)
When tonight’s EcoWarrior Gala Award Night will take place at the Radisson Blu in Nairobi, is Safarilink the only airline which has been nominated for this year’s honours and will therefore by the look of it once again bring the trophy home to their offices at Wilson Airport.
This is a resounding endorsement of Safarilink’s zero carbon footprint policy, accomplished – incidentally as East Africa’s first aviation company – through their support of tree planting initiatives around the Mount Kenya area which led to enough annual carbon credits.
It was now learned that the airline is getting ready to take delivery of another Dash 8 twin turboprop aircraft which will be deployed on busy routes to the Kenyan national parks but also to the Kenya coast on routes like Lamu or Ukunda. Safarilink is the only airline serving Vipingo Ridge – now a certified PGA course, the first one in Kenya – with scheduled flights via Ukunda. This allows golfers to reach Kenya’s best course without the trouble of having to fly via Mombasa and then taking a lengthy road transfer but can enjoy a direct flight, golf bags included, to their destination.
