MAJOR PR COUP FOR SANKARA NAIROBI AS FRENCH PRESIDENT OCCUPIED NEW PRESIDENTIAL SUITE DURING HIS RECENT VISIT
(Posted 22nd March 2019)
Upstaging one another in the hotly contested 5* Luxury Hotel segment in Nairobi is not an easy thing to do but the Sankara in Nairobi – soon to be unveiled as the first member of the Autograph Collection by Marriott in the entire Eastern African region – managed to do that nevertheless when they hosted French President Macron during his recent visit in their brand new Presidential Suite.

Not even officially launched has the newly constructed Presidential Suite on the 7th Floor of the Sankara Hotel added the one last thing the hotel has been missing so far – all other boxes have been amply ticked as per my own reviews filed here before – a top tier suite fit to accommodate Presidents, the rich and famous and the who is who in finance, commerce and of course the show business.
Writes the hotel in its newly published sales material: ‘The one of a kind Presidential Suite will fuel your imagination with a heightened reflection of Sankara’s personality; woven in the fabric of a modern design aesthetic and contemporary style. Business travellers, global leaders, visionary creatives and world explorers will experience meticulously curated art, an unmatched vibe and a distinctive expression of the local culture. The Presidential Suite is elegantly finished with a spacious master bedroom, a large living and dining area, powder room, pantry and an adjoining room‘.
The hotel’s General Manager, Mr. Krishna Unni, further told ATCNews: ‘This is an exciting venture for our hotel, in step with the growing demand from consumers and their desire for unique and quality experiences; our focus was excellence – from selection of materials to the final finishes. We wanted to capture the hotel’s personality with signature elements that showcase warmth and understated elegance‘.
Also complete are the eleven brand new 7th floor Sankara Rooms, which provide extra comforts to guests. Guests staying in the Sankara Rooms can also enjoy the Sankara Lounge which provides a tranquil environment for more private one on one meetings away from prying eyes.
The new Sankara rooms are a mix of a unique and very chic design and a dash of elegance with walnut wooden walls and marble bathrooms flooded with natural light. These new guest rooms feature a king sized bed, a large wardrobe and important for visitors on business a working desk. The view from these rooms overlooks Nairobi’s commercial and entertainment hub, Westlands.
