SERENA HOTELS CHARTS A NEW PATH

One of the largest mammals on the planet, such has been the evolution of the elephant over the centuries that today its remarkable memory allows it to chart all of the many paths it has followed during its lifetime. Elephants also understand the reasons why their age-old migratory corridors must be followed. They even train their offspring to memorize the routes that will best guarantee the survival of the herd, no matter how adverse the conditions.

Similarly, Serena Hotels is poised to chart new paths.  After a tough period, the like of which has never been experienced by the global hospitality sector, we at Serena are embarked upon a new journey. From city hotels to beach resorts and from safari lodges to safari camps, the Serena Africa Group is forging a new highway to the future, one that will open whole new horizons of unforgettable Serena experiences for our guests.

The Transformation of Amboseli National Park
Towered over by the snow-capped majesty of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli has long been considered one of Kenya’s most rewarding parks. Today, however, it is undergoing one of the most dramatic transformations in its long history. As a result of climate change, Kilimanjaro’s glaciers are melting at an unprecedented rate while the resultant meltwaters are creating a fascinating new wetland ecosystem to which a whole new theatre of birdlife is attracted.
Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge, the original and still the best
Did you know that the Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodgein Tsavo West National Parkwas the first lodge to be built in a Kenyan national park?  Opened in 1952, it originally served as one of Africa’s most renowned hunting lodges. Today, still standing in its original unique position, it continues to offer our guests unrivaled viewing access to both the wildlife and the spectacular scenery of this immense and untamed wilderness.

In doing so, not only did she put Kenya on the tennis map but she also became the first African EVER to win a Grand Slam event. Speaking of her success, Angela said, ‘I will take in the victory, celebrate, then turn my focus to the US Open, Tennis Championship, God willing.’
