Serena Hotels publish their revised rates for residents

(Posted 13th January 2023)

Greetings ATCNews Readers,

We hope that 2023 has begun well for you and we thank you, most sincerely, for your steadfast business support over the past year, which was an exceptionally difficult one for us all. As we are sure you are already aware, the cost of doing business in Kenya has been negatively impacted by the depreciation of the Kenya shilling against other world currencies; also by a radical rise in inflation. Consequently, and in the interests of protecting our own business profile, we very much regret that we have found ourselves with no option other than to raise the costs of some of our products (see the rate sheet below) and to lower the commission rate we are able to pay our agents (from 15%  to 12.5% as of 1st January, 2023).

This has been a very difficult decision to make and we convey it to you with greatest reluctance. However, it is our hope that business will grow within the travel sector as the year progresses thus enabling us to review the situation. In the interim we’d like to thank you for your understanding and to say how much we look forward to continuing to working in close cooperation with you.

With kind regards,
Rosemary Mugambi
