A CHANGE IS AS GOOD AS A STAYCATION

With the current unprecedented times, most of us have had enough of being indoors for far too long caving in to cabin fever. Luckily, travel restrictions have eased and strict health and safety protocols put in place both in Kenya and the wider East Africa making this the opportune time to take a break from our daily mundane routines. A staycation at our newly-fully-refurbished Nairobi Serena Hotel may just be what you need. Experience the best of Nairobi city skyline views from the comfort of your room, treat yourself to a revitalizing spa treatment, indulge your taste buds to our delectable cuisine or even go on a mini-safari at Nairobi National Park to enjoy a combination of suburbia and wild. A 2 days’ break may just be the trick to giving you the much-needed R&R. The staycation offer is available even in our other city hotels in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, DRC and Mozambique.

IT’S ABOUT TIME..
The ban of plastics within Kenya’s national parks, beaches and conservation areas took effect on 5th June 2020. Visitors are no longer allowed to carry plastic water bottles, cups, disposable plates, cutlery, or straws into protected areas. As a brand committed to sustainable business operations, we couldn’t be more enthralled as this ban helps in our efforts to improve the lives of people, communities as well as protect the environment for future generations. Sustainability is not only our ethos but also inherent in our day-to-day operations. Serena Hotels has spearheaded conscious efforts to reduce single-use plastics at all the 24 properties in Africa which we have implemented in a phased manner since 2016. We have since ceased the use of plastic water bottles in all our Kenyan camps and lodges to comply with this ban as well as provide guests with an eco-friendlier environment for their stay setting the necessary momentum to exemplify nature.
