State House Victoria / Seychelles has confirmed that the state of emergency, which was imposted at 06.00 hrs (a.m.) local time earlier today, has been lifted.

State of Emergency removed
The President of the Republic of Seychelles, Mr Wavel Ramkalawan has formally announced the lifting of the State of Emergency in Seychelles as of 1800hrs on 7th December Seychelles time
All services and activies has resumed as per usual.
However, the Providence Industrial Estate area and surrounding areas affected will remain as a controlled area in order to ensure the safety of the public as well as owners of business in that zone.
Members of the public are reminded follow all instructions from the Police, as the emergency services and relevant authorities continue their work.
At least three people died as a result of the floodings the island experienced and the explosion reportedly injured nearly 180 people who received treatment in various hospitals and health facilities on Mahe.
