#Seychelles’s island of #Praslin to stage Food and Art Festival again

PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY IN THE SEYCHELLES TO RELAUNCH THE PRASLIN CULINARY FESTIVAL

(Posted 14th June 2018)

It was learned from a regular source in Victoria, the Seychelles capital, that the National Arts Council plans to re-launch the Praslin Culinary Festival this year with exact dates yet to be confirmed.

Tourism is for the archipelago’s second largest and second most populated island hugely important and a regular stream of visitors gets off every day from the ferry to visit the Valley de Mai National Park and see other attractions besides tourists spending their time on this island.
Praslin is also a waypoint for visitors to the smaller island of La Digue.
Reviving the Culinary & Arts Fiesta as it was initially called will therefore help to focus on Praslin as a destination in its own right.
With the restructured Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine no longer overseeing cultural festivals will it be up to sister organisations to prepare for and stage such events, which are of course supported by the Seychelles Tourism Board and the ministry itself, just no longer being in the driving seat.
Confirmation is also awaited when the Festival Creole will be staged this year, after the event last year incorporated the Seychelles Carnival.
Once dates are confirmed be sure to read about it right here.
