Sports sponsorships key element of Sheraton’s community engagement in Kampala

SHERATON KAMPALA HOTEL TURNS LOSING GOLFERS INTO WINNERS

(Posted 29th July 2015)

Following the hugely successful Uganda Vintage Car Show last weekend was the Sheraton Kampala Hotel again the venue when many of Uganda’s amateur golfers were invited to participate in a ‘Piga Mingi Night’ at the hotel.

Following the conclusion of the 73rd Uganda Amateur Open Golf Championship at the Kitante par 72 course of the Uganda Golf Union – which this year saw the youngest ever winner, Ronald Otile, aged just 20 years – did the hotel honour those who did not make it to the podium, recognizing effort and encouraging future participation of the young golfers in upcoming tournaments.

Prizes handed over by the hotel included memberships in the hotel’s gym, lunch and dinner vouchers and even accommodation at the hotel, all received by ‘losers turned winners’.

The Sheraton Kampala Hotel, owned and managed by Constellation Hotels under a franchise agreements, is a regular sponsor and supporter of sporting events, with golf high on the agenda. Guests staying at the hotel in fact have access to the course on weekdays unless tournaments are being played.
