Swaziland
set to
build iconic convention centre and 5 star hotel,
boosting
economic growth
Swaziland Tourism Authority (STA) recently visited Durban for South
Africa’s leading inbound tourism trade show, Indaba, which took place
at the Durban ICC between 9 and 11 May. Together with 15 industry
partners, STA was able to promote the Kingdom’s diverse array
of attractions, accommodation options, world-renowned wildlife
conservation programme, all made possible by His Majesty King Mswati
III as well as showcase new and exciting developments taking place in
Swaziland in the near future.
“Indaba 2015 provided Swaziland Tourism Authority and its partners the
opportunity to promote the Kingdom as a go-to destination in Africa. We
received a lot interest from buyers and visitors and look forward to the
meetings and queries turning into fruitful partnerships in the near future.”
Said Bongani Dlamini – Marketing Manager of STA.
STA was also excited to announce the construction of Swaziland’s
first world-class hospitality structure, The Swaziland International
Convention Centre and Five Star Hotel, in the heart of Ezulwini, a
thriving tourism hub in the Kingdom.
The Kingdom of Swaziland seeks to become a major player in hosting
international and regional meetings, exhibitions and conferences,
striving to meet the Kingdom’s goal and vision of attaining first world
status by the year 2022. A project of this magnitude will also contribute

growth. Dates for the launch of Swaziland’s ICC are yet to be finalised.
His Majesty King Mswati III says, “Infrastructure development
remains key to the economic growth of every economy.”
