The African Elephant Man’s quest to walk across America to save the African Elephants

Last evening, I had the pleasure of joining the @RotaryClubofSanAntonioNorthCentral for their evening fellowship, thanks to the kind facilitation of Past District Governor (PDG) Monica of Rotary District 5840. I am grateful for the warm welcome and the opportunity to share my journey and mission of elephant conservation.
This was my 9th Rotary Club engagement since the flag-off of the 20th Edition of Walking for Giants, my 3,700-mile journey from Oakland, California, to New York City, raising awareness about elephant conservation, environmental protection, and the need to build dependable partnerships for wildlife conservation in Africa.
Through these engagements, I continue to connect Rotary’s spirit of Service Above Self with species conservation, demonstrating how Rotary clubs can play a meaningful role in protecting biodiversity while strengthening community participation and international partnerships.
Through my The Rotary Club of Juja l in Kenya, I look forward to building bridges with Rotary clubs in the United States to develop collaborative projects in elephant conservation, environmental education, habitat protection, and human-elephant coexistence.
My vision is to see Rotary clubs develop signature projects that deliver lasting conservation impact—connecting people, protecting species, and safeguarding our common home for future generations.
Every Rotary fellowship creates an opportunity to connect people, ideas, and resources. As I walk across America, I am reminded that conservation is a shared responsibility that transcends borders.
My sincere appreciation to PDG Monica and the members of the Rotary Club of San Antonio North Central for their fellowship, warm reception, and commitment to service.
When I don’t walk, I talk—and wherever I walk, I connect people for
