Kenya Golf Trophy 2015: A Prize Bonanza

The JW Seagon Bupa Kenya Golf Trophy, to be held in 3 weeks’ time at Muthaiga Golf Club onFriday the 13thof November will indeed be bigger and better than the previous years with already more than 33 prizes received from sponsors mainly from Kenya’s Hotel Industry: Heritage Hotels, Fairmont Hotels, Sarova Hotels, Serena Hotels, Sankara, Tribe, Kempinski, Fairview Hotels and Tamarind Group have all been very generously given accommodation in their hotels and restaurants. Sea Cliff Golf Resort from Zanzibar offers 2 nights accommodation and golf in their new Golf Resort in Zanzibar, while Etihad gives again 4 Tickets to any Etihad destination in the world, Air Kenya2 tickets to the Masai Mara and PelePele 4 nights in Johannesburg with 3 rounds of golf at 3 top golf courses: Royal and Kensington, Bryanston and Randpark.
‘The support we are getting from the hotels and airlines is overwhelming this year, especially realizing that times have been very hard for the tourism industry‘, say Tobs Cohen, the organizer and Tournament Director of the 4th edition of the Kenya Golf Trophy before adding: ‘Thanks to this generous support of our sponsors, every 7th golfer will win a prize, which makes this tournament a real prize bonanza. It shows that Kenya’s hotel industry is betting on golf tourism as the new tourism target for Kenya, besides beach and safaris holidays‘.
Some of the prizes will be sold through an auction and for the hole-in-one shoot out over the lake on hole 13 of which all proceeds will go to the Junior Golf Foundation.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinners are for the 3rd time sponsored by NAS Cuisine, which will showcase its high quality catering services and delicious food. Other loyal sponsors are Mercedes Benz, Crown Paints, Daily Nation, KTB, Nescafe and JCB. New sponsors this year are Chase Bank and Nairobi City County marketing Nairobi as the Golf Capital of East and Central Africa, with 14 golf courses in and around the city.
With many VIP’s attending safety and security are of utmost importance, AAR Health Care, a new sponsor, will do health tests and have an ambulance available, just in case. BSIK and Active Track will ensure the security will be tight, although not intrusive.

The sponsors and their VIP guests are making up the majority of the players, but 80 individual golfers can get entry for Ksh 10.000/- per person, inviting a guest for the night dance party, with music by DJ Tonzo, which will go on until deep in the night. It is advisable to book early and avoid disappointment as many are already registered.
