Tourism and Culture Minister Alain St. Ange retains portfolio as President Michel swears in his cabinet

PRESIDENT JAMES ALIX MICHEL KEEPS HIS MINISTERIAL TEAM AS MINISTERS SWORN IN AT STATE HOUSE VICTORIA(Posted 22nd December 2015)

The Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St. Ange, retained his portfolio when President Michel earlier in the day held a swearing in ceremony at State House Victoria.
All other Ministers also retained their respective portfolios, of particular importance here the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Transport Mr. Joel Morgan, who oversees the country’s aviation policy and is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Air Seychelles.
President Michel, according to information received from State House Victoria, told his ministerial team to monitor their organizations well and deal with any arising problems before people would have to seek intervention from either himself or Vice President Danny Faure.
Tourism has seen unprecedented growth in the Seychelles in recent years since Alain St. Ange first joined the Seychelles Tourism Board as Director of Tourism Marketing in the 2007/8 financial year before taking over STB as its CEO.
Appointed in April 2012 as Minister of Tourism and Culture has the archipelago year after year seen new visitor records established and become one of the world’s most visible tropical island destinations, largely as a result of a sustained marketing campaign.
Culture, performing arts and other festivals have also helped to put the Seychelles on the global map, giving the archipelago competitive advantages over its closest competitors.
Minister St. Ange earlier in the week went on record to keep political disputes off the streets of the main islands after Britain had issues a precautionary travel advice, warning UK citizens on the islands or planning to visit the islands to be cautious when leaving their beach resorts for visits to the city and other population centres.
