Waste management remains a challenge for many tourism lodges, particularly in remote destinations where collection and recycling services are limited or unavailable.
Through discussions with seven lodge/lodge group representatives, Enabel has already gathered valuable insights into the challenges faced by operators and potential solutions. Building on these findings, we are organising a Green Innovation Hackathon on 12th to 13th of November, bringing together a promising group of entrepreneurs, innovators and technical experts to develop practical, commercially viable solutions.
We however need input from more accommodation operators to establish which solutions are most needed and where there is strongest demand across the tourism sector. This is essential for participating teams to develop commercially viable services, rather than solutions that respond only to individual lodges. Your input will directly influence which solutions the teams prioritise and develop during the hackathon.
